What is a goal?
A goal is an objective.
The idea of a future result that you would like to achieve (or obtain).
Yes, you have a goal in football too. In a way, scoring a goal in football is your main objective, what you would like to achieve.
Types of GOALS
There are short-term goals and long-term goals,
- Daily goals
- 5-year goals
- Life goals (Life goals are things that you would like to do or achieve in your lifetime)
These can be divided into:
- Personal goals
- Family goals
- Career goals
- And many more
Today we are going to talk about personal goals you would like to achieve before the end of this year.
To answer this, we can say: I would like to …. (and the activity or thing you would like to have)
Examples of Goals
I would like to…
- Finish my studies (school or university)
- Learn a new language
- Learn something new (play an instrument, how to drive)
- Visit a certain country (or city)
- Get married (or remain single)
- Have children (have a trusting relationship with them)
- Find a job (or a job that satisfies you)
- Become an expert in something (your area or work, a sport, etc.)
- Keeping a healthy work-life balance
- Improve my physical health
- Improve my mental health (or have spiritual balance in your life)
- Be kinder to people or more empathetic with those around me.
- Start my own business
- Obtain financial stability (or be debt free)
- Write a book
- Help others less fortunate that you (volunteer or create a charity)
- Try not to be stressed
What will you do to achieve your proposed goals?
Every step that is taken, no matter how small, will help us achieve our goals.
For example, if your goal is: Improve your physical health
What will you try to achieve this goal?
- Walk every day for half an hour
- Join a gym
- Create my own exercise routines
- Cycling / static or a bike
- Go jogging / running or using the treadmill at home
- Do YouTube routines
- Eat a healthier diet
- Drink more water
- Eat more fruit instead of sweet things
- Eat more salads
- Reduce the consumption of carbohydrates

- Study new vocabulary
- Watch TV or videos in the language I want to learn
- Read magazines or newspapers in that language
- Do exercises in English
- Speak in English (at least try)
